A red phone booth and red post box (mail box), both English icons, stand next to an entrance to Carfax Tower
at the corner of Cornmarket Street and Queen Street in Oxford, England. Carfax Tower, whose name derives
from the Latin "quadrifurcus" via the French "carrefour," both of which mean "crossroads," is considered to be
