The central saloon, or formal state dining room, is the most highly decorated room in Blenheim Palace,
in Blenheim, Oxfordshire, England. The room features walls and a domed ceiling painted around 1713
by artist Louis Laguerre representing Peace, using a three-dimensional painting, or trompe l'œil,
"trick-the-eye", a fashionable painting technique at the time. The walls depict all the nations of the world
who have come together peacefully. Blenheim Palace is the principal residence of the Dukes of Marlborough,
and the only non-royal, non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title of palace. The palace, one
of England's largest houses, was built between 1705 and 1722. It was also the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill,
