Kraków, the cultural capital of Poland, has to be one of my favorite cities anywhere in the world, full of history, fantastic old architecture, ornate churches, museums, palaces, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, superb restaurants and more. It's a very green city that's quite walkable with vibrant and friendly residents who will surely make any stay there one to be remembered.

We spent a week in Kraków last summer but decided to return in winter to see the szopka (Christmas crib) exhibit https://pbase.com/helenpb/szopki at the history museum, making the 14-hour round trip from Budapest by car.

I have decided to make a sub-gallery for this short trip since my major Kraków gallery is getting a bit unwieldy because there is just so much to photograph here.
