Tougyu -- a close call

This was the bullfight at which I was attacked and almost trampled by a runaway bull that almost managed to completely jump the wall into the crowd. In brief he was towering over me balanced on the wall and knocked me in the arm, at which point I fainted and some kind person pulled me out of his way. I was bruised and a bit shaken up, but lived to tell the tale.

Dear Helen, I was in Uruma City October last year to watch the bullfight for the first time in my 16 years in Okinawa.. Since I had with me a long lens, I shot pictures of the bullfights from the highest stair level (the entrance ground level actually) to obtain good framings of the fights. I even moved to the upper section of the dome to get better shot-views of the fights. I didn't have any inkling that those bulls, when frightened, could jump into the spectators area . I watched the video here and could hardly believe it happened. Good thing you were not seriously hurt. Unfortunately I have posted only one photo of the bullfights in my partial 'Okinawa Images Gallery' thinking that posting them all would only be monotonous as there were no significant fights that took place then. In fact all the fights were dull that my wife, my adult daughter and I had to leave the area earlier to avoid the expected heavy traffic if we were to stay until the entire fights had ended. Your short stay in Okinawa had driven you to many places in this island. Places that I haven't been to in 16 years. By sharing your photographs, they provide me the idea where to go and do my photography next time around. Just like you I am also doing photography only as a hobby and, only when I have time from 6 days/week work. Thank you for sharing. Ver

that's really cool to have witnessed that and not been injured, I had no idea the bullfights were like that or I'd have gone to see also when stationed there. I wish they sold Georgia coffee here in the states, I used to drink about 8 of those each day probably not very healthy though.
