The history of this architecture is steeped in the history of Hungary. Many pictures in this series remind me of other cities in present-day Hungary and Transylvania (e.g. Kolozsvár, Marosvásárhely, Brassó, Arad, Temesvár), which is currently part of Romania, but similarly to Pozsony-Bratislava was part of Hungary before 1920.

Oh how I would love to know the history of this incredible architecture.
The arch and the door have such contrast yet the rounded top of the door
bring them together. Excellent image Helen. BV
