Atherton Tablelands residents, FNQ

We must have taken a drive through this area; a caption on one of my pictures says the road back to Cairns was “very treacherous.” According to Google:

“The Tablelands (or Atherton Tablelands) is a highland region of northern Australia near Cairns, Queensland. The landscape's mix of rainforest, wetlands and savanna is home to numerous birds and wildlife like tree kangaroos and wallabies.” And cattle, apparently.

Calle Libre murals again, posted earlier:

A very beautiful setting for the cattle. Love the background. V

You are on the way to my home town. That range in the background might be one of several depending which way you were facing, perhaps the Herberton Range.
PS The cattle are still in residence, though maybe not so many these days as cropping and horticulture have become prominent.

Had a wonderful visit in 2016 to Atherton Tablelands visiting Don, but don't remember the cattle!
