Federal buildings behind fences, too

This is the Thomas P. O’Neill Federal Building, which is located next to the Ford House Office Building (not seen), both of which are up the street from the encampment pictured below. The Department of Health and Human Services is on the next block down. I didn’t think Federal buildings were behind fences, but perhaps these two are because they’re close to the House building, and members of Congress want their office buildings well protected.

We drove down towards the Capitol to see what the area looked like six weeks after the insurrection on Jan. 6, thinking that perhaps some of the security precautions had been removed. Instead, what we found was even more fencing and security measures to prevent the public from getting anywhere near the US Capitol, congressional offices and federal buildings. Quite frankly, I was appalled to see the extent of it – three miles of fences..

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.
