This cow’s name was Jail, reportedly given by the staff at the National Colonial Farm. I asked about the horns (which I would sure be careful of if I were her handler) and was told that the farm opts to leave females' horns untouched, so both female and male cows have them.
Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

We went back to Piscataway Park on the Maryland side of the Potomac River, hoping to see some ospreys or bald eagles there again, but there weren’t any of either around. There were, however, a lot of dragonflies and butterflies as well as a barnyard full of sheep, cows, pigs and chickens at the National Colonial Farm. The extensive grounds are run by the National Park Service and simply gorgeous, a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
