Face to face

One of the countless dragonflies we saw while walking around the park grounds; this one was from a boardwalk that runs along the river. I’ve come to the conclusion that these guys are hard (for me, at least) to photograph, but Tim seems to do a good job on them.

Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

We went back to Piscataway Park on the Maryland side of the Potomac River, hoping to see some ospreys or bald eagles there again, but there weren’t any of either around. There were, however, a lot of dragonflies and butterflies as well as a barnyard full of sheep, cows, pigs and chickens at the National Colonial Farm. The extensive grounds are run by the National Park Service and simply gorgeous, a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
