This is a cropped version of the picture I was originally going to post in which there was a woman with a camera in sort of an unattractive position. Tim thought it was better not to post it, so I cut her out. Now it’s a boring picture of orchids ;-).

I wasn’t entirely happy with orchid close-ups with the Z7, so all the more reason to go back and try again. The US Botanic Garden is the only thing still open on the Mall due to the government shutdown, anyway, so I imagine we will.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

After much indecision, I finally bought the Nikon Z7 mirrorless camera along with the Z 24-70 lens (plus an adapter for other Nikon lenses). I've never used mirrorless before so am viewing this whole thing as an experiment. There really isn't much interesting to photograph around Capitol Hill in winter, but I need to test out the camera and see how it performs, thus this gallery of whatever I could find to capture that hopefully isn’t too boring ;-).

Old standby, posted earlier:

Nikon Z 7 ,Nikkor Z 24-70 f4 S
1/80s f/5.6 at 70.0mm iso1000 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto
