Union Station, Los Angeles, California (1939)

Architecturally distinctive for its Mission Revival style, Los Angeles Union Station is the largest railroad passenger terminal west of the Mississippi River. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Among the many plant materials used in the model, the clocks were created from bamboo, she-oak fruit, allspice fruit and alder fruit.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

We went to the United States Botanic Garden’s Season’s Greenings exhibit titled “All Aboard,” which showcases historic train stations from around the country made almost entirely from plant materials.
