Penthouse, rooftop view

The rooftop deck is connected directly to the penthouse and is for its residents’ use only. The 360-degree view is pretty spectacular, with the Library of Congress (left dome), the US Capitol dome (center) and the Washington Monument (right) in sight here (although would have been better on a sunny day!). In another direction, you can see the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

We attended an open house of the entire Pierce School Lofts building last weekend and were given permission to photograph whatever we wanted.

The Pierce School was built in 1895, bought by the owners in 2000 for $275,000 as a flooded and rodent infested shell and converted to condos in 2005. All the units are for sale, ranging in price from $359,000 to $699,000 for the lower lofts and $3,399,000 for the 9,500 square foot penthouse.
