The Potomac River is full of ice, something I’ve never seen before, so we went out by Roosevelt Island for a very brief time today – brief because it was bitterly cold and quite windy, and my fingers felt like they were getting frostbitten after only a few minutes. (Forget about changing any settings, I could barely use the shutter ;-)). Tim asked if I wanted to stop at another vantage point, but I simply couldn’t face that arctic blast again.
I wasn’t entirely happy with the pictures from the new D850; perhaps the lens I always use has to be calibrated after all, which I had read was advisable but was hoping to avoid. I thought a few of the images were OK, but others, wow, not sharp at all (when they really should have been).
