I finally gave in and got a new scanner (Epson Perfection V39) since I had dumped my old one in Saudi Arabia. It’s a pretty cheap one and only does photos, but that’s all I need. It also takes a very long time to scan – it estimated 76 minutes for this picture but ended up taking “only” 11; however, at least now I can scan some of the prints I missed when I did this project in 2001.

This Kurdish merchant in Urfa had dressed Tim up.
