My token dragonfly

Some man was trying to attract dragonflies and had put this bracelet on the post. Sure enough, this dragonfly, who had just left, flew right back. They were really all over the place at the gardens, but I found them pretty difficult to photograph (so this is my token one ;-)).

Saturday was the first day of the annual Lotus and Water Lily Festival at Kenilworth Park and Aquatic Gardens in northeast Washington, D.C. We had just missed the festival last year, so it was nice to be part of the festivities this time around. The place was packed – unlike last year -- but the flowers were in full bloom and beautiful. It never ceases to amaze me that places so full of nature like this exist in the middle of the nation’s capital.

As far as the eye can see, posted earlier:

They are difficult to photograph. I have heard of using a necklace to attract them. Well detailed. V

But with perseverance, you got it! Great catch

Good catch of the dragon fly. I have a hard time capturing them, they dart around too much. I'll have to try the colored 'bait' next time. V

The colorful bracelet makes for an interesting shot. Yes, that is a kind of dragonfly (as opposed to a damselfly).
