Waiting for the other food to drop

We recently had a block party in our alley to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of the parents of a neighbor. Sahraa, Riley (the poodle) and the other dog whose name I forget all had their eyes on that plate, waiting for the inevitable piece of food to drop on the ground. It finally did, and Riley lunged for it. Before that, he had gotten away from his human and grabbed something right off the woman’s plate. Sahraa would never have been so brazen ;-).

I'm laughing at the story and thinking of my yellow lab from many years ago. He got on the table and ate the butter while we (and our guests) weren't looking.

Great shot. Are you sure the dogs weren't the guests of honor? :-)

I think there's a little pride in a dog showing here Helen, but we believe you, I'm sure Sahraa wouldn't do anything wrong.,

I love that dogs were there too, and that Sahraa was so well behaved. V

Funny! I'm glad no dog got bitten. Two of my dachshunds went for some food I dropped from the counter and one bit the other so severely that when the wound was stitched up by the vet and, in effect, had a droopy throat lifted! After that I made sure not to drop food and also watch them at eating time - I think I had 5 dachshunds at that time - the biter I've described I locked in a crate when she was eating!
