Traditional tomb, Taketomi Island

There is only one village on Taketomi Island, with traditional Okinawan architecture, beautiful beaches, stone walls, sand streets and transportation by water buffalo-drawn carts. It had a population of 323 as of January 2012.

This is a traditional Okinawan tomb, although much larger than most I’ve seen.

This must have been for a prominent person - lovely although looking somewhat neglected. V

An old looking tomb, but fresh flowers - someone well remembered. Love the unkempt vegetation.

This is so appealing with the lush vegetation and the serene structure. Wonder if it is still like this now. V
