'Star Wars'

A few images from an exhibit titled “orchids: A MOMENT” at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, which I slipped away from work to see. It was fairly small, arranged on an interior wall, and most of the orchids were like 6 feet above my head, but I was keen on using my newly rediscovered old 105mm lens, so managed to photograph some plants that were more on my level.

Not the sharpest capture, but I just loved the look of this orchid, like a character out of “Star Wars,” namely Jar Jar Binks.

Open arms, posted earlier:

An extraordinary form that I haven't seen yet. The Nikon 105mm is a very fine lens.

Beautiful! From the thumbnail it looked like something alive. :) Well, I guess it is! But I was thinking of a creature.
