'Nilgiri Tahr and Bonnet Macaque,' by Agasthya Karthikeyan

“Nilgiri Tahr and Bonnet Macaque,” Valparai, South India, by Agasthya Karthikeyan, at age 15, Pollachi, India. This was a “Highly Honored Youth” image in the exhibit.

Says Karthikeyan: “I was photographing the Nilgiri tahr calf in the Western Ghats near Valparai when it suddenly went near a bonnet macaque baby, which tried to touch it. The compassionate relationship between the two amazed me.”
