The snow plow engine

The snow plow engine

I slipped away from work for a few hours on Thursday to revisit this exhibit since I realized I had missed a lot of displays. What a difference a weekday afternoon makes! There were no crowds until I was leaving, and I was able to walk right in rather than waiting in the cold for an hour. It seemed lighter in the gallery, yet still, pretty dark for pictures, and I found that the exhibits I didnít photograph before were the more challenging or hard to access ones. Iíll be posting a number of new pictures, the majority of them fairly quickly.

This is a snow plow train that runs around the mine scene pictured below. I tried and tried (and tried) to get a decent picture, without much success, to the point that one of the monitors came over to see what I was doing ;-). I realized later that I didnít have a clue how to photograph something moving quickly towards me. Iím tempted to go back again to try to get it right, but for now, this will have to do. It was just too cute not to include.
