From the historic Washington landmarks in the Garden Court, we moved on to the West Gallery, which housed an enormous Douglas Fir Christmas tree decorated with national park ornaments and a model of the Old Faithful Inn and geyser, along with the front of a locomotive for kids to play on.
The Christmas tree in the West Gallery, a Douglas Fir from Maryland that I read somewhere was the third largest Christmas tree in the country, although I’m not sure if that’s true or not.
