Big business

Logging is a major industry in Oregon, and the Port of Astoria had a huge stock of logs, with constant deliveries going on while we were there. I imagine they’ll be put on ships for export to places like Japan.

Interesting image. In September I will make a visit to Ramania were a lot of logging is done.in the Carpatian mountains

lots of stock here...many BC logs go to Asian markets like China, Japan, and Korea, so imagine Oregon Logs are for the same markets..

It used to be Japan that received most of the western forest wood back in the 80s. So it probably still is.
