I am finally home from the hospital! How ironic that I just went to the ER to get a new splint on my foot since the other one seemed to be causing a strong allergic reaction, and I ended up being admitted for four days! I have a heavy course of antibiotics to take, a follow-up visit on Sunday evening with three doctors, and then I guess more time for everything to heal. The dermatologist said it is a form of contact dermatitis caused by the Betadine they put on my foot after the minor surgery on Thursday. Not as serious as everybody had first thought (including making me have a CT scan), but serious enough to make my foot look like one giant red blister. He said it should heal quickly. I hope he’s right.
