Out for a ride

Taken on our way to the US base, about an hour outside of Riyadh, to bring Sahraa to see the Army vet there.

Transporting camels isn’t so rare here, but I’m always delighted to see them on the road in somebody’s pickup. This guy was really moving fast, and we just couldn’t get close enough for a better shot (so this severely cropped). I’m not sure yet, but this new camera doesn’t seem to do too well on moving targets, or perhaps it’s just slower to lock focus than the previous model. Or something.

The camel seems to be enjoying the ride. I love the expression. V

Here in the States you'll see dogs in the back of trucks so why not camels there :-)

Great shot and to me it seems OK all the way. I have seen a simular transport in Libya 10 years ago.

Very interesting shot! I see nothing wrong with your image... the focus looks fine to me. V

You would think the cars would all have sunroofs so they could transport their camels...
