We waited until our last afternoon in Iceland to see Reykjavik, which was unfortunate since I think it seems like a very nice city. We were staying there with friends, but really used that more as a base to travel around the country. In any case, I have very few pictures of the city that I like, except a few from Harpa, the beautiful performing arts center, where we spent most of our remaining time. I’m posting a few of the others just to give a sense of what it was like.
This is the very modest Reykjavík Cathedral, or Dómkirkjan, which played a vital role in the country’s conversion to Lutheranism. There was a wedding going on while we were there so we couldn't go inside. Next door was the Alþing, or parliament building, but the light was such that I just couldn’t get a good picture.
