Taken from the car on our drive along the southeast coast to Höfn. We had asked the housekeeper of our friends in Reykjavik how long she thought the drive would take, and she said nine hours. None of us believed her, but she was right -- there are so many places to stop along the way, despite the weather, that it just couldn't be any shorter.
