Al Rajhi Grand Mosque

We pass this spectacular mosque every time we drive to the US military base, and every time we do I try to get a photograph of it, both going there and coming home. It has proven a very elusive subject for a drive by shot, and pulling off is usually inconvenient and not sure how much it would help anyway. Finally I got a capture that I like well enough, although it pains me to have to leave this much distortion in it ;-).

I don't think it is necessary to correct verticals on buildings, in fact it can be overdone, and this gives a fair impression of its size and scale

You certainly need a wide angle to get that huge building in the frame.

This is more than just, "like well enough", Helen. The light is beautiful, the wispy clouds add interest and the distortion is a natural optical effect. V
