We arrived in Portland, Oregon, last night to visit my husband's mother. At first I thought we wouldn't have any Internet connection at her house (yikes, how would I survive ;-)) but in the end we managed to somehow get something off her cable connection (whew!).
On the approach to the airport, we passed close by Mt. Hood, bathed in pink light with a ring of clouds close to its base, and some snow still left on the craggy slopes. It was literally breathtaking, and I didn't have a camera handy, much to my dismay. I couldn't use my cell phone, so just had to be content with enjoying the sight. That will teach me to find a way to carry the Leica in my purse!
