Leaning canal house

I liked this house (the second one in) and shot it from a bridge. It shows quite well how many houses were deliberately built leaning in so that goods hoisted to the upper floors wouldn't damage the facade. We read somewhere that they finally had to pass a law (centuries ago) restricting the degree of incline to prevent the houses from falling over (or something like that).
