I had never seen ham sold like this before. They had very (very!) expensive gift packs at the airport cut the same way.
This huge, colorful market -- Mercat de Sant Josep, commonly known as La Boqueria -- was the first place we visited in Barcelona. We wanted to return to buy some artichokes and avocados to bring home (they were so incredibly reasonably priced), but we never got back there. The fruit in particular was just fabulous.
It's located on the lively main street of La Rambla in a building that resembles an enormous train station.
