I was so enthralled with the Hungarian Railroad Museum that we went back again, just a week after our first visit. The weather was pretty overcast and freezing, and the park resembled a ghost town, but both worked to the advantage of photography as well as eliminating lines to get into engine cabs and such. However, many things weren't operating as they had been the previous weekend, when the grounds were packed with people because of an old car show (our original purpose for going). I have now heard it's better to visit after March 30, when their "high season" begins, running until November 4. Additionally, many of the locomotives and wagons that had been on open-air display last weekend had been moved back into the dark roundhouse! I couldn't believe it when I saw they were missing ;-).
Anyway, this very colorful wheel unit is located at the entrance to the museum, dating to 1942.
