Another 'crane train'

I guess these are more "documentary" captures, but I'm including a few of heavy equipment on trains because I found it fascinating to even know that such things existed. Thanks to Martin, I now know that cranes on trains are used for replacing track, lifting locomotives onto tracks (yikes, that has to be heavy!) and general engineering.

Another, more colorful, crane:

These cranes were also used to set derailed engines or wagons back on the rails.

Martin is correct I think. These are for replacing tracks. Cool shots of both heavy duty cranes. "V"

Think it may be for laying the tracks
Like these large machines. v
