The Heroes of the People's Power Memorial

This monument honors the Hungarians that fought against the 1956 uprising against the Soviets. Couldn't have been too popular a memorial in Budapest.

Setting aside content and message. I kind of like some of the Soviet's bold 1950's design style. I think it is important that some of these eastern-bloc statues are kept, irrespective of which 'side' they represent, because none of us should forget our shared history.

A very interesting memorial, well framed in your photograph. I am surprised that this was not torn down, but I am glad it wasn't because it is certainly fascinating to see this. "V"
