Drottningholm Palace, Lovön island

The 17th century Drottningholm Palace is located an hour's ferry ride from Stockholm, on Lake Mälaren, and this time our cruise was delightful, with the sun shining and a mostly blue sky. The palace, together with its theater, park and Chinese pavilion, has been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list. The interior was lavish, but no photos were permitted, unfortunately. The royal family lives in apartments in a wing of the palace that is not open to the public.

Very nicely framed photo. I have notice that the Europeans save their old building, while us Americans must tear down and build something new. Great Capture. V.

The wind on the water and the gathering storm clouds frame this beautiful historic building so well. v
