In the early 1900s the 10 richest citizens of Stockholm lived along Strandvägen, an area that was planned to be "a street, the like of which will not be found anywhere else in Europe." Slowly that goal was met, and Strandvägen became a place to admire the stately facades along the water, just as it is now.

I hadn't realized until I looked at the pictures that this building and the one in the picture immediately preceding it are the exact same design.
