Art Nouveau, The Cats' House

Legend has it that the merchant who owned this building was refused entry to the Great Guild because he was Latvian, not German. In retaliation he installed two cat statues with their backsides facing the guildhall. After a lengthy court battle he was admitted to membership and as a result turned the cats around.
