FRANCISCAN CHURCH (1255)

I was going crazy because I knew I had taken a picture of the exterior of this church but simply couldn't find it. Then I remembered I had a huge folder of discarded images on my laptop that I had with me on the trip. And there it was. It didn't have the grandest exterior, but the interior certainly was beautiful, if a bit dark.

The construction of the Franciscan Church was begun in 1255; it was rebuilt in the Baroque style after the Swedish invasion (17th century) and partially again after the great fire of Kraków in 1850 in the Neo-Romanesque style.

Glad you found it. Surprising how modern the upper part of the brick building looks. V

Surprise, surprise ~ more brick!!! Love the interesting architecture and delicate crosses! Reminds me a bit of the gabled buildings (is that the correct term?) that I've seen in Holland & Belgium.
Voted!
