The Cloth Hall

The Cloth Hall, sitting in the very center of Market Square, was originally a covered market, and a stone structure serving that purpose is thought to have existed here at the time of Kazimierz the Great (14th century). It was rebuilt in 1585 and remodeled in 1875. Today it houses score of vendors selling Polish folk crafts.

Dear Guest, Yes, I saw her frequently in the square and knew she was hawking something but wasn't sure what it was. Thank you for your comment; now I know! Helen

Actually, the lady seen here with an oldfashioned stroller is advertising for a local restaurant. Seen her during my visit in Krakow in April 2012.

Fantastic perspective Helen. How did you manage to not to have one hundred tourists in this shot? ;-) V!

A lovely bit of architecture once again! The girl pushing the buggy adds a nice old-fashioned feeling! V
