Petőhenye, church by Imre Mavovecz (1999)

It was quite a long drive to this very small village from Budapest, but I wanted to see this Roman Catholic church by the late famous Hungarian organic architect Imre Makovecz. Unfortunately, the church was in poor condition, but I imagine it must have been striking when first built, which was only in 1999...

For more images of works by Makovecz, see http://www.pbase.com/helenpb/makovecz

For images on the architect's site as to how it used to look and what the interior actually looks like, see http://eloepiteszet.hu/?q=hu/makovecz-imre/petohenye-katolikus-templom
