This was an enormous (around 1 meter/3 feet in diameter) piece made as commission for a customer (from the Middle East, I thought, but my husband thinks Japan; he's probably right). When it came out of the kiln, it was cracked. You can see the two cracks on the outer edge where it was put back together. Needless to say, they had to make it again.
The private showroom was incredible, with pieces on display for all different markets, such as the US (their biggest market), Japan (next biggest), Europe and the Middle East. Some of these works are for sale in Hungary at Herend brand stores, but many are not. It was a treat to view them all.
