I loved Okinawa. I was stationed at Kadena 1970 - 1972 with some TDY time on Miyako Jima. The people of Okinawa were great. My best friend was Miko Higa, I hope she has had a wonderful life. I think of her often.
Your photos are wonderful.

Beautiful pictures. I was stationed on Okinawa from 62-63. Hard to imagine that I was there a short 50 years ago. Lovely place with lovely people. Have never had the opportunity to return. My misfortune in life.

I was there in 2001-2003 while in the Navy, LOVED the island, if I could have stayed longer I would have. It is such a beautiful place, lovely people too! As someone already mentioned, these pictures made me homesick too.... :)

I lived in Okinawa from '73 to '77, the best years of my life. I love that Island.

Ohhh.....made me homesick. I have always missed this island. We were there in the early 60s. Although, I did thank Dad that I didn't have to say I graduated from Kubasaki High. What a mouthful!!! Do they no longer have the 3 wheeled Kamakazi taxis? I had actually looked into visiting, but it seemed too pricey for now. But, thanks so much for the memories. Best 3 years of my life.

Thank You for the Pic's. Enjoyed looking at them. I was at Kadena in 60's and was very fortunate to work with 3-4 residents and meet their family members. Did a couple fishing trips with local fisherman. Lots of wonderful memories. Thanks ! !
