Blizzards of 2010: Washington, D.C., Under Cover

NEWEST PICTURES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GALLERY. I'd have to say, especially being from San Francisco, I've never seen anything like the winter we've had this year. (And I've included images from our first snowstorm in December.) With this last blizzard today, the 1889 snow record has been broken in the District -- the most snow ever here. I have a lot more pictures to process, but will just have to document this season bit by bit. There was so much snow left over from the storm last weekend, I can't even imagine where people are going to put the snow they now have to shovel. There are five-foot walls of snow everywhere, and people are pretty much held captive in their homes, with the city having ground to a halt.

Boy does that bring back memories; not something I want to relive anytime soon (even if the aftermath was pretty for about a day) ... here's how things looked in Fairfax. Hope Mother Nature is kinder to us for the upcoming snow season.
