The Otago Peninsula is a pretty peninsula in New Zealand's South Island with Dunedin at its mouth. The peninsula ends at Taiaroa Head where there is an albatross colony and Penguin Beach where one can see the yellow-eyed penguin. We spent an afternoon sailing the peninsula and were lucky enough to see the rare little blue penguin swimming in the wild. The yellow eyed penguin at Penguin Beach were also a treat but there are unusual penguins - quite antisocial and usually found moving in and out of the water on their own rather than in couples or groups. Enjoy!
