Jan 2008: PaD reflections
I'm quite chuffed to have completed a full year of PaD - a different photo taken on every day of 2007. It wasn't easy, and for the last couple of months I was counting down the days to 31st Dec, but it was an interesting experience, and I ended up with some photos I'm really pleased with which I wouldn't have taken if I wasn't doing PaD. By necessity I did a lot of indoor 'studio' work, something I wouldn't have done before. I don't think the results were too bad, although we didn't do ourselves any favours with the setup! Looking forward, I'd like to build on some of the ideas and techniques from the last year, but take a bit more time over it - something PaD wouldn't really allow.
Mar 2007: I'm nearing the end of three months of PaD, so I though it was about time I added a message here.
I've been an 'active' amateur photographer since 1999 when I joined a camera club with my other half Bruce, but I've enjoyed photography since I was a kid. I dabbled with B&W darkroom processing for a while, but never really got on with it (although you can't beat that first sight of an image as it appears in the developer tray!). We 'went digital' a couple of years ago, and although at times I curse the computer and miss the excitement of getting a box of slides back, I think my photography has improved. I just need to get better at organising my digital images...
I started doing PaD to improve my eye for a photo, and although I don't know if I've done that yet I'm definitely taking photos of things I wouldn't have done before - with varying degrees of success! I always stick to my rule of taking (at least!) one photo each day, although I may not always be able to post it the same day.
I really appreciate everyone's comments - apologies if I don't always have time to comment in return!
Thanks for stopping by :-)
