If you're looking for a pristine white sand beach, crystal clear blue waters and a tropical climate, it would be difficult to do much better than this. Bora Bora is one of the islands of French Polynesia, just a short flight from Tahiti. The island features an extinct volcano at its center, and is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef. The rainy season down there, when beautifully fluffy clouds fill the sky most afternoons, is in the middle of winter in the northern hemisphere. Here the clouds float over a series of "motus" (Tahitian for "small island") around the periphery of the main island.
