On another cold winter night in the Alaskan arctic, the northern lights illuminate the peaks of the Brooks range and the valley below. This aurora was particularly intense and rapidly undulating, resulting in a set of exposures filled with blown-out highlights. This was one of the exceptions in which the purples and greens of the lights were preserved.
