Founded in 1907 the Santa Cruz (CA) Beach Boardwalk is known for many amusement icons but the best known are the Giant Dipper (one of the best known wooden coasters in the world) and its half mile course along with the Looff Carousel which still contains its original 342 pipe organ built in 1894.Old fashioned carnival games and snack booths can be found throughout the park...on the day of this photo essay, the sky was gray and white with the smoke of the 8,000 acre fire burning just 10 miles north of this seaside park, thereby influencing the detail of many photo attempts...blue sky eventually brought some relief later in the day as the breezes were welcomed.
