Monument Valley

After a number of ho-hum sunrises and sunsets I waited on this one out for quite awhile and the sun finally attempted to break though the clouds. Hitting one monument then another, and for an instant all three. I caught a few with my D300. I then set up a 4 x 5 and waited over an hour for another break in the cloud cover that didn't want to come. The clouds blew overhead towards the Monuments, while the wind at times blew 40-50mph with sand to sting the face and arms. I spent most of the time just standing in front of my 4 x 5 waiting for a break in wind and clouds...then it got dark. The next morning had some nice warm colors while some restless horses ran out in front of me while I was driving - I jumped out and followed them. Another lucky break. The mare started to whinny quite a bit and appeared to be angry with me. I figured my time was up, but I got a couple of shots in first.
