Over five years ago, our world and the world of over 2 million residents of the Gulf Coast were n changed forever when Hurricane Katrina came ashore in Buras, Louisiana and then on the Mississippi-Louisiana border on August 29, 2005. Then the federal levees broke and soon 80 percent on New Orleans was flooded. The devastation was unbelievable. The pictures in most of these galleries were taken by 8th grade students over the last three and a half years. It is amazing how far we have come, yet how much still needs to be done. Thank you to the over quarter of a million people who have volunteered. We will be there, when you need our help.
