Minnesota's Sibley State Park

Reputed to be one of Minnesota's top 20 natural attractions, Sibley provides access to 2,500 acres of a rich mosaic of colorful prairies, lush hardwood forests, bountiful wetlands and cool, clear lakes. Throughout the seasons, miles of trails provide an enjoyable access to Sibley State Park, a place for experiencing "Nature at its Best." Sibley State Park is located in a transition zone where the prairie meets the hardwoods. Its terrain was formed by the action of four glaciers. The area is part of the Alexandria Moraine Complex. Rock, sand and gravel dumped by the glaciers form the towering hills and many of the lakes were scoured out by retreating glaciers.
